| Rafting tours on the Salzach usually take place between 1 - 30 June. The tour begins on the Salzach River at Eschenau, some 20 km east of Zell am See. After enjoying a short practise distance we go through the so-called "labyrinth", a stretch of river with many rocky outcrops. Then it´s on through stretches of rough water and huge rollers towards Lend, where the Gasteiner Ache empties into the Salzach in an impressive waterfall. Stretches of calm water alternate with rough rollers before the tour finally ends in Schwarzach. The Salzach is a deep glacial river. Degree of difficulty: WW 3-4. Length of tour approx. 6 hours of which 2.5 hours are on the water.
