| In an event similar to a treasure hunt, teams of participants navigate at an outdoor location using a GPS device. Almost any location from a large city park to an area of countryside or forest, even a glacier, is suitable for the orienteering trophy. Teams are equipped with a Roadbook, the GPS device and a map and compass. The task is to locate numerous predetermined GPS points where further instructions will be found. En route teams must answer extra questions, solve navigational tasks with map and compass as well as complete team challenges. Previous locations include Lake Fuschl, Trattberg, the Wiestal Stausee, Tegernsee, Lake Starnberg, Lengries, the English Garden in Munich, The Naturpark Hoher Wand, the Kötschach Valley/Bad Gastein, the grounds of Castle Ernegg in Lower Austria, Gumpoldskirchen/Baden bei Wien, Kreuth, Yalta and the Dachstein Glacier. |
